My name is Clement Kam’mwamba, I am 20 years old. I was born and raised in Malawi. I grew up with a single mother who instilled a love of learning and understanding in her children. She taught me the importance of hard work and dedication. However due to mother’s financial limitations, my brothers and I went to Jacaranda School for Orphans in my village in Malawi, Africa.
Ever since I was a child, I was always so passionate about art. Through Art I am able to express how I feel, inspire and teach the world. Making the whole world a better place is something that I feel is very important. Through art all this can come true for me since I am able to illustrate the issues affecting the world. A lot of people respond and connect more easily to visual images therefore positive action can be taken. Art matters to me the most because I am able to express my deepest thoughts, teach the world about issues affecting the world and tell people more about my home country, Malawi. I just graduated from a social entrepreneurship program in Colorado 3 months ago. Ever since I came back to Malawi I have been making commissioned paintings and creating other meaningful art pieces.
